Types

There are mainly two types of this kind of cylinder. These are:-

• Tie rod cylinder

They are used in top quality steel rods that will hold the end cap and are mostly used in factories' applications. The bore cylinders that are small in size generally carry 4 rods whereas the cylinder bore large cylinders may need up to 16-20 rods so that the end caps can be retained whenever tremendous force is produced.

• Welded body cylinder

This type of cylinder carry no tie rods and are directly welded on the end caps while the barrels are welded with the ports. They have the narrow body and shortened length which allows them to be fitted inside the packed confines of the machinery. They do not get affected by failures because of the tie rod stretched on high pressure and provided long strokes.
